For a small business, the fastest win from AI is not a strategy tool. It is the writing you do between jobs: replying to customer inquiries, answering reviews, sending the email that goes with a quote, messaging suppliers. You say the facts in 30 seconds, the AI turns them into a clear, polite text, and you check it before you send it. Retexta is an Android app built for this: you talk, it writes the finished text. It does not calculate prices, run your books or post anything for you.

Example 1: replying to a customer inquiry
We wrote these examples ourselves to show the idea. They are not real app output, and your results will look different.
The customer's message (pasted into Reply to a message):
Hi, my e-bike makes a grinding noise when I brake. Can you look at it this week? How much would that cost?
What you tell it (in What do you want to achieve?):
Friendly reply. Yes, we can look at it. Thursday or Friday, drop it off before 10 and it's usually ready same day. Brake check is 25 dollars, if it needs new pads we'll call before we do anything. Ask them to bring the key for the battery.
The finished reply:
Hi,
thanks for your message. Yes, we can take a look this week.
You can drop the bike off on Thursday or Friday before 10 am, and it's usually ready the same day. A brake check costs $25. If the bike needs new brake pads, we'll call you before we do any extra work.
Please bring the battery key with you.
See you soon,

The price, the days and the call-before-work promise came from you. That is the rule for every customer text: the AI shapes the words, you supply the facts.
Example 2: answering a critical review
Google's help page for business owners says: "Helpful and positive replies to reviews can show that you're responsive to your customers." Your reply appears publicly under the review. So keep it calm, specific and short.
The review (pasted into Reply to a message):
2 stars. Coffee was good but we waited 25 minutes for two sandwiches on Saturday. Staff didn't say anything.
What you tell it (in What do you want to achieve?):
Warm, not defensive. Thank them. Saturday we were short one person, that's not an excuse, they should have been told about the wait. We now tell guests when the kitchen is running late. Glad they liked the coffee. Invite them back, no discount offer.
The finished reply:
Thank you for your honest feedback, and I'm sorry about the long wait on Saturday.
We were one person short that day, but you should still have been told about the delay. Since then, we let guests know when the kitchen is running behind.
I'm glad you enjoyed the coffee, and I hope we can make the sandwiches just as quick next time.

Three things to check in every review reply: nothing about the customer that they did not write themselves, no argument about details, and no promise you cannot keep. And one rule without exceptions: never use AI, or anything else, to write reviews of your own business.
Example 3: the email that goes with a quote
Retexta does not calculate your quote. You work it out in your own software, then speak the email:
Email to Mrs. Alvarez, professional. Quote for painting the living room and hallway is attached, total 1,480 dollars including paint. We can start October 12, takes two days. Quote is valid for 30 days. If she wants a different color for the hallway, no problem, same price. Ask her to confirm by email.
The finished email:
Subject: Your quote for painting the living room and hallway
Dear Mrs. Alvarez,
thank you for your inquiry. Please find the quote for painting your living room and hallway attached.
- Total: $1,480, including paint
- Start: October 12, about two days of work
- The quote is valid for 30 days.
If you'd like a different color for the hallway, that's no problem and doesn't change the price.
Please confirm by replying to this email, and we'll reserve the dates for you.
Kind regards,

Check the total against your quote before you send. A wrong number in an email to a customer costs more than the time AI saved.
What AI should not do for your business
- Invent facts. Prices, dates, opening hours and guarantees come from you. Read every number.
- Make legal or tax decisions. Contracts, disputes, cancellations and tax questions belong with an advisor. Explain something gives you a plain-language explanation of a letter and possible next steps, not advice.
- Fake reviews or testimonials. Not with AI, not without it.
- Get your customers' private data by default. Put in only what the reply needs. Retexta processes text in the cloud; see the note below.
How to reply to a customer in Retexta
- Open Retexta and tap New task.
- Tap Reply to a message.
- Tap Paste text and paste the customer's message or the review into What did you receive? (A screenshot or PDF of the message works too.)
- In What do you want to achieve?, write your answer in a few words, or tap your keyboard's microphone and say it.
- Tap Create draft. On the result screen you can change the writing style (for example Professional, Friendly or Warm), the language or the length.
- Read the reply, then copy it into your email, WhatsApp or the review form.
Every goal except Transcript only is part of Retexta Pro. Retexta is free to try: new users get a few free Pro results to view in the app. Copying, sharing and exporting results need Retexta Pro or credits, and so does everything after the free results.
Where your text goes
Retexta is cloud-processed. According to its privacy policy, requests go through FLAME Apps' Google Cloud infrastructure to AI providers such as OpenAI, and your note history is stored on your phone. The policy also says you are responsible for having the right to upload other people's data. Read the Retexta privacy policy before you use it for customer messages.
